Where nostalgia meets artistry in film & imagery
Halinowska was born for the laid-back, the real, the human: for the stories that deserve to be told with honesty and rooted in memory. Through film and still imagery, I work to preserve love through a story-forward lens, one that values emotion over perfection and memory over poses.
The name comes from my middle name, Halina. By reshaping it with the feminine “ska” ending, I found a way to honor not only my Polish heritage but also the grandmother I never had the chance to meet. It carries the strength of the women before me, their legacy, their love, their stories. And it keeps me rooted in why I do this work.
Much like walking into your grandmother’s home, you may think you’ve come for tea and cake, but you’ll always leave with more. More soup, more bread, a full meal, and the feeling of being welcomed like family. That is what I hope Halinowska feels like. You might arrive expecting photographs, but you’ll leave with something deeper: an experience steeped in care, galleries abundant with warmth, and images you will return to for decades, like pages in a well-loved book.

For me, art has always been about memory, about the way a photograph can feel like stepping back into a moment you thought had passed. I do not chase perfection or staged poses. I listen first, and then I tell the story as it unfolds: the laughter spilling across a table, the chaos of a crowded dance floor, the quiet tears that catch you by surprise.
Through film, Super 8, and still imagery, I create with the hope that your gallery will feel like home, imperfect, abundant, and real. My philosophy is simple: to see you fully, to honor your story with care, and to give you more than you ever expected.
